Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo

We’re very excited to announce that the annual Boo at the Zoo event will be held at Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo on Saturday, October 31, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This community event is sponsored by the Louisiana Purchase Zoological Society with support from the City of Monroe.

The goal of the event is to give the children of Northeast Louisiana a fun-filled zoo experience where the thrill of being in costume and getting treats is provided in the exciting, educational environment of our lovely zoo.

To ensure a wonderful experience and to give our valued community partners a chance to promote their services, we are inviting local businesses, churches, civic clubs, classes, and organizations to help welcome the kids and their parents and to provide candy and/or other treats. Each partner is asked to provide candy for up to 2, 000 children during the four hour period.

If you cannot attend but would like to show your support, we ask that you consider a sponsorship to offset the Zoological Society’s costs for hosting the event. Sponsorships will support the cost of things such as promotional efforts, costume rental, extra candy, and costume contest prizes. To be a Sponsor Organization, you will be asked to contribute at least $150 – a small price for such a big opportunity to support safe events for our young people and promote your business or organization!

Sponsors will be listed on signage at the Boo at the Zoo event and will be included in media notices. We will also list the Sponsor Organizations on the Zoo Society’s Facebook page.
